The University of Hawaii women's volleyball team clinched the outright Big West regular-season championship in its first year in the conference with a 25-19, 25-17, 25-19 sweep of Cal Poly-San Luis Obispo on Saturday at the Stan Sheriff Center in Honolulu.
Emily Hartong had 14 kills and a .619 hitting percentage for the Rainbow Wahine (21-2, 14-0 Big West), ranked ninth by the American Volleyball Coaches Association. Molokai High School graduate Kalei Adolpho had four kills, and Kamehameha Maui graduate Ginger Long had a dig.
Holly Franks had eight kills for the Mustangs (3-21, 2-10).
The Rainbow Wahine will host Brigham Young-Hawaii in a nonconference match on Thursday, and visit Pacific on Nov. 16.
