Catherine Kilborn officially became principal of Baldwin High School on Thursday.
The longtime Iao Intermediate School principal replaces interim Principal Jacquelyn Davis, who has been serving at Baldwin since last school year, said Leila Hayashida, acting superintendent of the Baldwin-King Kekaulike-Maui High Complex on Monday.
Davis has returned to her vice principal post at Maui Waena.
Replacing Kilborn at Iao on a temporary basis will be Alvin Shima, who has been school renewal specialist in the district office. He previously was principal at Kihei Elementary.
Hayashida said the posting and interview process to find a replacement for Kilborn will take at least two months.
Two Maui elementary schools have had new principals on duty since Oct. 15.
Kim Otani, vice principal at Wailuku Elementary, has become the principal at Kamalii Elementary School in Kihei. She replaces Chris Daly, who left for a position on Oahu.
Kathleen Dimino, vice principal at King Kekaulike, has moved down the hill to lead Pukalani Elementary. She replaces Chad Okamoto, who left for the principal post at the new Puu Kukui Elementary that will open in the fall.
