Coleen d'Avignon, artist at d'Avignon Designs, is a well known Maui jewelry designer and Hui No'eau member. After moving to Maui in 2004, she was introduced to the art of Japanese Kumihimo. By using this technique, eight strands of beads, along with freshwater pearls and semi and precious gems are woven together to create one-of-a-kind necklaces.
Coleen has graciously donated two lovely pieces to the auction at the Sixth Annual Hui No'eau Wailea Food & Wine Celebration Friday at Hotel Wailea. Her first piece is a woven beaded necklace done in gold-filled findings. The center "dangle" is composed of Rhodochrosite, faceted moonstone, Swarovski crystals, and assorted pearls. The second piece is Picasso jasper with citrine, labradorite and amber on an 18 inch, gold-filled chain.
Attend the annual Hui No'eau Wailea Food & Wine Celebration for an opportunity to bid on these amazing pieces, as well as pieces generously donated by Passman Gallery and Tiffany & Co. See the dining section on page 18 for more details about the event.
