A Nov. 1 contributor made a compelling argument that putting computers in public schools is a bad idea, suggesting how many will be "stolen," "lost," "broken" or "traded"?
Few today can refute the American educational system kindergarten through 12 is falling rapidly behind the prowess of other counties. Children are being introduced to computers in Europe and Asia, including rural areas of Africa where kids have never had access to any type of education.
It took millenniums for people to be convinced the world is really round. Let's hope that the introduction of computers in all 50 states, led by Hawaii, will not take that long.
