Mililani scored 14 unanswered points in the second half to defeat Baldwin 24-13 in the first round of the Division I state quarterfinal football game at the War Memorial Stadium tonight.
Baldwin led at the half 13-10 with quarterback Keelan Ewaliko accounting for all of the Bears points with a touchdown run and two field goals.
The Bears came out strong in the third quarter driving down the field but Ewaliko was stripped of the ball and Mililani ran the fumble back deep into Baldwin territory. Mililani scored a touchdown to take the lead and never trailed after that.
With time running down in the fourth quarter, Baldwin drove into field goal range on the passing and running of Ewaliko. But his kick that would have made it a one-score game, caromed away off the left upright.
