Can someone explain this one?
Why do Maui County workers get the day off to vote when the rest of the population somehow is capable of voting without taking the day off? Do absentee voting and early voting days (12 in total) offer any solution here?
I do not like to grumble without offering a suggestion. How about all county employees receive an absentee ballot by mail with their yellow voter registration card? Seems we are talking postage versus paid days off.
Maybe the taxpayers could come out ahead on this one.
