Tip leads to capture of missing inmate
An anonymous tip Saturday night led to the capture of a Maui Community Correctional Center inmate who had escaped from a jail work detail at Lahaina Civic Center on Friday morning.
Maui police took Henry "Hana" Rosenthal, 32, into custody without incident at about 10:40 p.m. Saturday in Lahaina, according to Maui Police Department spokesman Lt. Wayne Ibarra.
Officials had received a tip around 10:17 p.m. alerting police that Rosenthal was on the upstairs balcony of a residence on Kale Street in Lahaina.
Police responded to the location and located Rosenthal in an upstairs bathroom, Ibarra said.
According to court records, Rosenthal was sentenced in August 2004 to a 10-year prison term for first-degree burglary. Rosenthal also has convictions for theft, forgery, assault, driving without a license, criminal property damage and parole and probation violations.

Firefighters assist woman on Molokai
Molokai firefighters helped a 20-year-old woman Sunday afternoon after she was believed to have had an extreme allergic reaction while at Halawa Falls on Molokai, Fire Services Chief Lee Mainaga said.
Firefighters received the distress call at 1:38 p.m. and went to Halawa Falls to find the woman, a Molokai resident, with an off-duty physician who told them that he believed the woman was in anaphylactic shock, Mainaga said.
The firefighters provided medical assistance and helped the woman along the trail to waiting medics who took the woman to Molokai General Hospital in stable condition.
The Maui Fire Department's Air One helicopter was dispatched to the scene, but was not used as part of the rescue, Mainaga said.

Nov. 20 talk to focus on seabirds
Jay Penniman, manager of the Maui Nui Seabird Recovery Project, will present "Seabirds of Hawaii with a Focus on Maui Nui" at 6 p.m. Nov. 20 at the Hawaiian Islands Humpback Whale National Marine Sanctuary in Kihei.
The event will be in the sanctuary's conference room, located at 726 S. Kihei Road. Parking is available in the sanctuary parking lot only. (The nearby Kalepolepo Park gate closes at 7 p.m.)
