Hauns Brereton and Vander Joaquim each scored 15 points as Hawaii beat Arkansas-Pine Bluff 81-54, on Sunday night at the Stan Sheriff Center on Oahu.
After leading just 33-27 at the break, the Rainbow Warriors (2-0) exploded for 48 points in the second half against the Golden Lions (0-2). UH used a 19-7 run in the first five minutes of the second half and built its lead to as many as 30 points late in the game.
Hawaii shot 55 percent in the second half, while Arkansas-Pine Bluff shot just 18 percent.
Brandon Spearman added 12 points, while Christian Standhardinger added 11 for Hawaii. Jace Tavita had 10 assists and eight points.
Lazabian Jackson scored 12 points for Arkansas-Pine Bluff.
Hawaii will next play Houston Baptist on Monday night.
