Longing looks after playground closure

Second Photo: The fall surface on the ground below the playground was deteriorating to the point where the gravel was showing and the wood structure was splitting and rotting, said Glenn Correa, director of the Department of Parks and Recreation on Friday. He said the structure will have to be replaced with an the estimated cost of $600,000. The decision on whether to spend this much money will have to be brought before the County Council, Correa said.
