November 14, 2012
The Maui News

The Kihei Public Library will offer the following three free children's programs in November:

* Robert DeVinck will present "Classics Illustrated with Papa Lopaka" at 3 p.m. today. DeVinck will offer a dramatic reading of his "Classics Illustrated" comic book. There will be a brief discussion and question-and-answer session. The program is recommended for ages 8 to 12 and will include light snacks provided by the Kay A. Edwards Memorial Fund.

* "Fall Art, Fall Colors with Chelsea Toia" will begin at 10:30 a.m. Saturday. This hands-on experience will celebrate fall colors using acrylic and tempra paints. Participants will learn about pointillism using simple materials, and will create a project to take home or display in the library. All materials will be supplied. The Kay A. Edwards Memorial Fund is sponsoring this program, which is suitable for ages 3 and older. Children must be accompanied by a parent or caregiver.

* Family Movie Night featuring "Wallace & Gromit: The Curse of the Were-Rabbit" will begin at 6 p.m. Tuesday. This film is suitable for all ages. Children must be accompanied by a parent or caregiver. Free snacks will be provided by the Kay A. Edwards Memorial Fund.

Contact the library as soon as possible if a sign language interpreter or other special accommodation is needed for these programs.

For more information, call the library at 875-6833.
