I was happy to read the Nov. 10 article about Realtors' efforts to raise funds to buy gifts for the young clients of the Children's Justice Center. These kids, who have been through terrible times, need our support throughout the year, but especially at Christmas.
I would like to let folks know that music lovers who attend the Maui Pops Orchestra's Dec. 2 Holiday Pops concert at the Maui Arts & Cultural Center also will have the opportunity to support these youngsters. The orchestra has invited the Friends of the Children's Justice Center to collect gifts at the concert. Concertgoers who would like to help can bring a new, unwrapped gift suitable for children up to age 13. (The orchestra will be pitching in some cash to buy gift cards for teens, but I'm sure the Friends would happily accept checks from audience members.) Look for the Friends' volunteers with a big box and help fill it with gifts for Maui children who need a bit of a boost.
