It comes as no surprise that, with President Barack Obama's victory, the doom-and-gloomers have emerged (Letters, Nov. 15).
Surely, another four years with our president will send us spiraling into an abyss of unfathomable consequences: pestilence, global insurrection, a plague of locusts, meteorite strikes and - not least - the elimination of McRibs at McDonald's. These and other overwhelmingly sinister events will inevitably spell the end of civilization.
Or, maybe not.
