The Wailea Wine & Food Festival committee has picked an official artist for its inaugural event coming up Dec. 6 to 9 resort wide, and the artwork she created is the official poster.
"We had gathered a panel of judges and all had the ballots with the parameters of Wailea, food, wine and Maui," says Bud Pikrone, the mastermind of the festival and the general manager of Wailea Community Association.
Taryn Alessandro's mixed media, "Wine & Spirit," was chosen to represent the festival, and her works and the rest of the submissions will be up for auction and proceeds will go to the Maui Culinary Academy," Pikrone adds. "The contest was only open to artists who live in Maui County."
Taryn Alessandro’s Wine & Spirit is the official poster for the inaugural Wailea Wine & Food Festival to be held Dec. 6 to 9 resort wide.
Posters will be given away at the VIP Opening Reception Dec. 6 at Fairmont Kea Lani, Maui and Alessandro will be there, signing.
