Holding hands along the sands

November 24, 2012
The Maui News
Hand-holding beach lovers Vic and Kris Rennie (foreground) of Seattle and Dave and Judy Teller of Portland, Ore., walk along the shoreline at Kealia on Friday morning. “This is the best beach in the whole world,” Kris Rennie said. “We’ve been walking this beach for 28 years,” she said. “The first time was our 15th wedding anniversary.” Dave Teller said he would have a hard time picking his favorite island beach. “I love the beaches on Maui,” he said. An unsettled weather pattern continued through today as a series of upper level disturbances moved across the area, the National Weather Service reported. A flash flood advisory was posted for Maui on Friday afternoon with heavy rains in Ulupalakua. A rain gauge in Kula logged 1.17 inches of rain in a three-hour period Friday afternoon.
