Rainbow Wahine go unbeaten in Big West

The University of Hawaii women's volleyball team completed a perfect run through its first Big West season with a 25-17, 25-17, 25-13 sweep of UC Riverside on Friday at the Stan Sheriff Center in Honolulu.

Emily Hartong had 13 kills and a .400 hitting percentage for the Rainbow Wahine (26-2, 18-0 Big West), who have won 19 straight matches and are ranked eighth in the nation in the American Volleyball Coaches Association poll. Jane Croson had 12 kills, Molokai High School graduate Kalei Adolpho had five and Kamehameha Maui graduate Ginger Long had an ace.

Ashley Cox had nine kills for the Highlanders (8-24, 2-16), and Amanda Vialpando had eight.

The NCAA tournament selection show is scheduled for 11 a.m. HST on Sunday.
