First Photo: Construction crews work on Lahaina bypass Phase 1A early last week. The one-eighth-of-a-mile span runs from Lahainaluna Road to the Keawe Street extension and includes the 360-foot Kahoma Stream Bridge. State Department of Transportation officials said work on the phase is scheduled to be completed in December, with its opening in early January.

Second Photo: Workers push to finish Lahaina bypass Phase 1A and to begin work on Phase 1B-1, which is scheduled to be completed around late March or early April, state transportation officials said. Phase 1B-1 of the long-awaited bypass is about 1.7 miles long. It begins at Lahainaluna Road and ends at Hokiokio Place. Phase 1A is expected to be completed next month.
