9th Life Hawaii reaches milestone

Ninth Life Hawaii surpassed the 5,000 mark for the number of cats it has sterilized during its recent feline spay/neuter clinic on Nov. 11.

The number of cats sterilized by 9th Life Hawaii to date is 5,021. The organization said it reached the milestone with the ongoing support of 30 to 40 clinic volunteers, and services of veterinarians Tom Chlebecek, Celina Hatt, Roger Kehler, Lisa Lebreque and Ann Strieby and the colony caretakers and cat owners who understand the importance of sterilizing their cats to humanely limit the cat population.

The organization sterilized 108 cats at its Nov. 11 clinic and will start the new year with a multiday clinic in January. The group hopes to hold clinics monthly in 2013.
