The Maui News
Waiehu’s Evan Kaaihue catches a wave inside Kahului Harbor on Friday morning. A high-surf advisory for north-facing shores of Maui and Molokai was in effect until 6 a.m. today. A north swell was expected to produce high surf along north-facing shores Friday night, with surf heights expected to reach 12 to 16 feet, according to the National Weather Service. The surf was expected to gradually diminish today. A high tide of about 1.4 feet is expected between 2:55 p.m. and 4:13 p.m. today. The weather today is expected to be cloudy and hazy with scattered showers possible tonight. High temperatures will be 78 to 83 degrees with lows from 65 to 70 degrees. Southerly winds will blow about 15 mph.
