MIL soccer: Baldwin opens with shutout of St. Anthony

Kainoa Akoi and Nick Lawrence each scored two first-half goals as the Baldwin High School boys soccer team won its Maui Interscholastic League opener on Saturday, 9-0 over St. Anthony at War Memorial Stadium in Wailuku.

Zacharia Coloma-Mariano, Jaren Otani, Branden Barbosa-Briones, Taylor Sato and Austin Sajor also scored for the Bears.

The Trojans fell to 0-2.

* LAHAINALUNA BOYS 5, HANA 1: At Hana, two goals by Rhys Lendio and one by Noah Camara put Lahai-naluna (2-0) up 3-0 before the game reached the 15th minute.

The Lunas' Dylan Morales scored in the 38th minute, and Nestor Gomez-Perez added a goal in the 46th.

The Dragons (0-2) got their goal from Dellson Kanakaole.

St. Anthony vs. Maui High at War Memorial Stadium, 7 p.m.

King Kekaulike at Lahainaluna, 7 p.m.

Lahainaluna defeated Hana 5-0 on Friday, getting goals from Lendio, Gomez-Perez, Camara, Julian Bel-Robert and Erich Skrotzki.

* BALDWIN GIRLS 6, ST. ANTHONY 0: At War Memorial Stadium, Christine Kenagy scored in the first, 33rd and 76th minutes for Baldwin (2-0).

The Bears' Tara Tesoro added a goal in each half, and Amber Kozaki also scored. Pele Buika had two assists, and Mia Gaddis had one.

St. Anthony is now 0-2.

* LAHAINALUNA GIRLS 4, HANA 0: At Hana, Maile Altier scored a pair of second-half goals for Lahainaluna.

Altier scored in the 53rd and 61st minutes. She also assisted on a goal by Jessica Minske in the 28th. Haley Tatt scored for the Lunas (2-1) in the 65th.
