The University of Hawaii women's basketball team's rally fell just short in a 62-61 loss to Utah on Saturday at the Stan Sheriff?Center in Honolulu.
The Utes (7-0) were in front 60-45 with 2 minutes, 26 seconds remaining and 62-56 with 18 seconds left.
Hawaii's Destiny King hit a pair from the line with 12 seconds left, and Vicky Tagalicod's 3-pointer with six ticks left cut the deficit to 62-61.
The Utes' Michelle Plouffe missed the front end of a one-and-one, but Hawaii (2-6) couldn't get off a final shot.
Utah's Taryn Wicijowski scored 26 points, Plouffe added 14 and Roosevelt High alumnus Iwalani Rodrigues had 13.
Kamilah Martin had 22 points and seven rebounds for UH. Ashleigh Karaitiana added 12 points and seven rebounds.
The?Rainbow Wahine will next play an exhibition against Hawaii Pacific on Dec. 18.
