HONOLULU (AP) - Fresno State has accepted an invitation to play in this year's Sheraton Hawaii Bowl, game officials announced Sunday.
The Bulldogs (9-3) will face Southern Methodist (6-6) on Dec. 24 at Aloha Stadium.
"Having been to an earlier Hawaii Bowl as an assistant coach, I know the players and coaches are in for a fantastic week," said DeRuyter, who was on the staff at Nevada when the Wolf Pack beat Central Florida in overtime at Aloha Stadium in 2005.
The game is to be televised on ESPN, with kickoff at 3 p.m.
