December 6, 2012

There's still time to hop aboard for the next country in 100 Wines monthly extravaganza.

Diners may embark on the Passport Wine Dinner Series in December tonight and Friday in the Mediterranean-style bistro, located next to its sister restaurant, The Melting Pot, upstairs in Lahaina Gateway.

This month's featured country is France, and basically, you get to savor six courses with four wines for $60 per person, plus tax and tip.

"We have already 'visited' Italy, Spain and Australia," says General Manager Cindy DelleFave. "In January, we are featuring South America."

Executive Chef Lyndon Honda is putting his focus on some classic dishes and flavors from the featured country and then putting his own twist on it.

"Our goal with 100 Wines is to get people to really explore some different cuisine and wine from around the world. Feel like you have really stepped into a cozy French bistro while sampling foie gras, duck, lamb and even frog legs like you've never tried before!"

The fun part is, each diner is issued a 100 Wines passport, stamped for each wine dinner attended.

"You receive a 'frequent flier' reward for every five stamps," DelleFave continues.

"For the first five stamps, you get a $40 gift certificate; for the second five stamps, you get a $60 gift certificate; and if you fill your passport book with all 15 stamps, you receive a four-course chef prepared dinner for four from the country of your choice."

Tonight and Friday, you may enjoy the leisurely repast of the Passport Wine Dinner anytime during normal operating hours. Begin with an amuse bouche of lobster essence with lobster nage, leeks and herbs with Grand Imperial sparkling wines, followed by hors d'oeuvres, charcuterie, tartare, piece de resistance entrees and dessert.

For reservations, call 100 Wines at 661-6181.
