Considering The Maui News front-page article Nov. 27 on water rates during drought times, all Maui growers large and small should make time to attend the University of Hawaii Maui College Water Solutions presentation from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Dec. 12.
Lauren Roth specializes in water conservation as president of Roth Ecological Designs on Oahu. She will speak on agricultural water strategies including during drought conditions.
Even if you're using drip irrigation, mulching and/or building soil retention, Roth makes it her business to know best practices for ag water use. Plus, growers have the opportunity to share their own strategies specific to Maui.
