The Lahainaluna High School girls basketball team extended its Maui Interscholastic League winning streak to 74 games by defeating Baldwin 61-20 at the Lahaina Civic Center on Tuesday, the opening day of MIL play.
Aloha Salem scored 13 points for the Lunas, winners of the last eight Division I league titles. Fiemea Hafoka and Taylor Bates each scored nine points.
Lahainaluna led did not allow any points in the third quarter, and took a 59-15 lead into the final period.
Noelle Johnson and Honi Kaaea each scored four points for the Bears.
* MAUI HIGH GIRLS 73, KING KEKAULIKE 62: At Pukalani, Trina Valencia scored 26 points for Maui High, which trailed 52-45 going into the fourth quarter.
Valencia scored 13 points in the fourth, going 9-for-11 from the foul line. The Sabers made 25 of 33 free throws as a team in the final period.
Christina Lotulelei scored 19 points for Maui High, Jordyn Vega had 13 and Liana Tanaka added 11.
King Kekaulike's Taylor Fernandez scored 23 points, while Cameron Fernandez and Brandi Carillo each added nine.
