The Maui News

St. Anthony Junior-Senior High School's Action Team and student government officers put on a Hawaiian Christmas Senior Ball for the residents of Hale Makua in Wailuku on Nov. 30. The students provided pupu, lei and Christmas gifts for all the residents, sang Christmas carols, decorated and played bingo with prizes.

More than 35 residents attended what has become an annual event for Hale Makua and St. Anthony.

Theaedra Aiyana-Pascarella, activity director at Hale Makua, said in an email to the school, "It was a lovely evening for our residents, and we are so grateful to the students at St. Anthony for their hard work and generosity to make this event happen. It's this kind of community effort, having young people, music and good times, that helps improve the quality of life for our kupuna. The residents said they loved the songs, the lei and the decorations, and they hope you will come back again!"
