KAHULUI - Seabury Hall won two of three varsity races at the first Maui Interscholastic League canoe paddling regatta of the season on Saturday at Kahului Harbor.
The Spartans won the half-mile girls race in 5 minutes, 9.13 seconds, 13 1/2 seconds in front of Kamehameha Maui. The Seabury crew members were Bela Hamilton, Alexis Smith, Kamaile Lee, Mikaela McDaniel, Kaulu Luuwai and Kaile Aina Sutherland.
Lee, McDaniel and Luuwai teamed with Alden Simmer, Brenden Heitzman and Doug Martin to win the mixed race in 4:11.59, more than seven seconds in front of Kamehameha.

Kamehameha Maui won the boys race in 4:19.29 with a crew of Bryce Takabayashi, Maleko Lorenzo, Kupaa Luat-Hueu, Dustin Tacdol, Kauanoe Vanderpoel and Elijah Won. Seabury Hall was the runner-up in 4:24.77.
