Federal, state and county offices will be closed Tuesday in observance of the Christmas holiday.
All county pools and public libraries will be closed. The Maui News business offices will be closed.
Public libraries that are normally open on Mondays after 5 p.m. will close at 5 p.m. on Christmas Eve, library officials said.
Lanai residents who usually get their trash picked up on Tuesday will get the collection service on Thursday instead. The same schedule will apply for the New Year's Day holiday. All other county residential trash service will run on a regular schedule.
The Central Maui Landfill and EKO Compost will be open from 6 a.m. to noon on Christmas Day.
The Olowalu, Hana, Lanai and Molokai landfills will all be closed. The county's Electronics Recycling Program in Wailuku also will be closed.
