Organizers of TEDxMaui have announced the lineup of speakers and performers for the second annual TEDx event, which brings together presenters from Hawaii and beyond, sharing big ideas on stage in 18 minutes or less. This independently organized event, licensed by TED, is to take place from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Jan. 13 in the Maui Arts & Cultural Center's Castle Theater.
Additions to the 2013 TEDxMaui presenter lineup are: Paul Atkins, Kalepa Baybayan, Rev. Dr. Michael Beckwith, Rickie Byars Beckwith, Jim Channon, Sean Connelly, WenLu Duffy, Sherry Lynn Fisher, Kamea Hadar, Graham Hill, Brian Kennedy, Next Level Theater Productions, Lauren C. Roth Venu and Makana.
Previously announced presenters include Alex Grey, Archie Kalepa, Jenelle Peterson, Kim Rosen and Quayle Hodek.

With the theme "The Dream is Real," TEDxMaui 2013 is intended to educate, inspire and connect great minds by honoring innovators who have passion, curiosity, creativity and adaptability to change the world with revolutionary ideas, according to a news release.
TED, which stands for technology, entertainment and design, is a national nonprofit organization devoted to "Ideas Worth Spreading." TED holds an annual conference in Long Beach, Calif., that has featured speakers such as Bill Gates, Jane Goodall, Steve Jobs, Hillary Clinton, Eve Ensler and former U.K. Prime Minister Gordon Brown. Presentations from the TED conference are made available for free at TED.com. TED talks have been viewed by millions of people worldwide.
TEDxMaui is a locally produced TED-like event.
Tickets to TEDxMaui are on sale through the Maui Arts & Cultural Center box office by calling 242-SHOW and at www.mauiarts.org. Tuition for the daylong event is $100, or $75 for students and seniors. TEDxMaui will be limited to 1,200 participants, with 100 spaces reserved for students and seniors.
