Howard Muneo Murakami, 89, of Wailuku, Maui, passed away on December 14, 2012, at Maui Memorial Medical Center. He was born on August 4, 1923, in Paia, Maui.
Private family services were held.
Howard retired from Maui Electric Company as the General Account Administrator. He was also a member of the 442nd Infantry Regiment Combat Team.
He was predeceased by his brothers, Gordon Murakami, and Harry Murakami; survived by his wife of 66 years, Shirley Murakami; daughter, Colette "Coco" Griffis; brothers, Robert (Janet) Murakami, Hirotada (Sally) Murakami, Melvin (June) Murakami; grandchildren, Marc (Kristin) Takemoto, Wade (Jamescy) Takemoto; and 3 great grandsons.
