A 53-year-old Kuau man was the victim of a possible drowning at Koki Beach in Hana on Sunday afternoon.
Beachgoers got the man out of the water and onto the shore and began performing cardiopulmonary resuscitation, according to Fire Services Chief Lee Mainaga on Monday.
Firefighters got the call of a possible drowning at 3:13 p.m. and continued CPR on the man when they arrived on the scene. Paramedics transported the man to Hana Clinic, where he was later pronounced dead, Mainaga said.
