Seabury Hall trailed by one at halftime but beat Molokai 51-41 on Friday in the Maui Interscholastic League boys basketball opener for both teams at Erdman Athletic Center in Olinda.
The Spartans, who have won the last three MIL Division II titles and reached the state semifinals last year, got 19 points from Kaleb Palmer. Cameron King added 10.
Seabury Hall outscored Molokai 17-7 in the fourth quarter, helped by a 7-for-8 performance from the foul line. The Spartans' Jordan Haylor scored all five of his points in the final period.
Oli Falealii, a first-team MIL All-Star last year, scored 21 points for the Farmers, who led 24-23 after two quarters. David Rapanot added 10 points.
