Six firefighters are advancing to the rank of firefighter III in promotions that take effect Tuesday.
Timothy Herrick, a 10 1/2-year veteran who has worked as a hazardous materials technician as firefighter II, will be assigned to the Wailea Fire Station, First Watch, with his promotion to firefighter III, fire apparatus operator.

* Jason Gamiao, a 9 1/2-year veteran from Molokai, who will be assigned to the Hoolehua Fire Station, First Watch.
* Matthew Mann, a 9 1/2-year veteran from the Lahaina Fire Station, who will be assigned to the Health & Safety Bureau.
* Nathan Nishiki, a 10 1/2-year veteran, who has worked at the Wailea and Lanai fire stations. He will be assigned to the Health & Safety Bureau.
* Ryan Otsubo, a 10 1/2-year veteran from the Wailea Fire Station, who will be assigned to Fire Prevention Bureau.
* Spencer Rodrigues, a 10 1/2-year veteran from the Kula Fire Station, who will be assigned to the tanker at the Kahului Fire Station, Third Watch.
