A Dec. 16 letter writer states, "All of us, except American Indians, are descended from immigrants (even Hawaiians)."
I must take exception to the last part of this statement, as Hawaiians are certainly not immigrants in their own land. To make that claim shows ignorance of world history, not to mention Hawaiian history.
For almost 2,000 years these islands have been populated by the ancestors of the Hawaiian. It was only 53 years ago that the territory of Hawaii was declared the 50th of America's united states.
My Native Hawaiian wife is not an immigrant in her own land. She is the rightful owner of this stolen property waiting for its rightful return.
