Governor should have honored Sen. Inouye’s wish

December 31, 2012
The Maui News

Please put Gov. Neil Abercrombie's picture next to the word arrogant in the next edition of Webster's dictionary (I don't even know if it still exists).

To not honor Sen. Daniel Inouye's dying wish epitomizes the definition of arrogant.

Inouye served in his role of senator for five decades. How can the powers that be in the Democratic leadership overlook this fact?

I don't care if they truly believe - which I'm sure they do - that this is the best political decision they could make. I'm not a fan of Colleen Hanabusa, but Sen. Inouye deserves ultimate respect in this decision.

Brian Schatz, U.S. senator, not even close.
