Americans are at fault for getting fooled again

January 1, 2013
The Maui News

A Dec. 21 letter writer complains about an anti-Obama commentary. I commend The Maui News for publishing both sides whereas the regular media never questions the current president, which is one-sided and wrong.

In the recent election, it shouldn't have even been close. Not because of Barack Obama, but what it says about the American people. Faced with the choice between taking charge of our destiny and tackling our financial problems, we opted to get high. We elected a guy who doesn't understand that a growing economy that creates more taxpayers brings in more revenue than higher taxes.

It's one thing to elect an unknown quantity and buy his line of hope and change. It's something else to deliberately choose his failed policies over someone who has actually achieved success in life. I never dreamed America would do that.

Fool me one, shame on you; fool me twice, shame on me.
