I was really looking forward to my first The Maui News of 2013. After such a hard year for so many of us, finally 2012 was gone.
Instead of celebrating with a picture of a newborn baby, the last great Maui sunset or even the turtle on the sand at Hookipa, The Maui News saw fit for us, the readers, to be hit in the face with the tragic deaths of our own.
Really, I for one will never forget these horrible days. I do not need a reminder.
Keep this in mind for next year. If I still get the paper next year I hope that The Maui News starts my new year - as well as others - with some joy.
