Brandon Jawato scored all 21 of his points in the first half on 7-of-7 shooting from 3-point range as the University of Hawaii men's basketball team defeated UC Riverside 76-61 in a Big West game Saturday night at the Stan Sheriff Center in Honolulu.
Christian Standhardinger added 17 points for the Rainbow Warriors, who improved to 9-5 overall and are unbeaten in three conference games.
Vander Joaquim had 11 points and 11 rebounds for UH, which shot 27-of-49 from the field. Isaac Fotu contributed 10 points
Jawato, a freshman guard, came in averaging 5.7 points per game.
Josh Fox scored 12 points and Tre Owens and Dayton Boddie each added 10 for the Highlanders (4-11, 1-2).
Hawaii shot 10-of-16 from 3-point range, while Riverside was 3-of-16.
The Rainbow Warriors will play on the road against UC Irvine on Wednesday.
