Long wait for updates on newspaper’s website

January 6, 2013
The Maui News

Well, let's see: The New York Times, updated, the Honolulu Star-Advertiser, updated and current. What's this? At 7:30 or even 8 a.m., I'm still reading yesterday's news on The Maui News site. Opinion page? Sometimes not until 9:30 a.m. And it has been like this for years. Is this the standard Maui's only newspaper wants to set?

Also, even The New York Times, with more wackos and oddballs per square mile than probably anywhere, allows comments to and about stories in the paper. The Maui News? No can.

The hand-picked letters from the same disgruntled writers, myself included, get a little old. Come on, Maui Snooze, hit the update button.
