Time Warner Cable shows no regard for free speech

January 8, 2013
The Maui News

The news that Current TV had been bought out by Al-Jazeera, the Pan-Arab news channel, to reach a broader American audience is great news for those of us who value freedom of speech and access to diverse points of view.

Unfortunately, Time Warner Cable Inc., our local carrier, has decided we can't handle this diversity, and has pulled away from offering this channel to American viewers. So much for free speech.

Apparently our constitutional rights, in Time Warner's view, are limited to establishment-approved information. How immature.
