The University of Hawaii men's volleyball team winless streak to open the season continued Friday with a 24-26, 25-18, 17-25, 25-15, 16-14 loss to Penn State in an Outrigger Invitational match at the Stan Sheriff Center in Honolulu.
Aaron Russell had 17 kills for the Nittany Lions (1-1), ranked seventh in the nation in the American Volleyball Coaches Association poll. Tom Comfort had 15 kills.
Sinisa Zarkovic had 18 kills for the Warriors, who fell to 0-4. J.P. Marks had 16 kills.
No. 5 UCLA defeated No. 10 Ohio State 17-25, 25-22, 18-25, 25-18, 15-13 in Friday's earlier match.
The Warriors and Bruins will meet today.
