King Kekaulike High School Advancement Via Individual Determination students participated in the Harry and Jeanette Weinberg Foundation’s “Educating the Heart” service learning program by partnering with the Nisei Veterans Memorial Center’s Kansha Preschool. After completing more than 130 community service hours, AVID President Tiara Nishijo presented a check for $5,000 to Charlene Doi, director of the Kansha Preschool, at a Jan. 9 ceremony at King Kekaulike High School.
