USDA meeting to outline programs

The USDA Farm Service Agency, Natural Resources Conservation Service and Rural Development state directors will hold a public meeting from 7 to 9 p.m. Jan. 29 at the University of Hawaii Maui College.

People attending the meeting will receive an update on current FSA, NRCS and RD programs as well as discuss the Hispanic, women farmer and rancher claims process. The claims period closes March 25; details can be found at www.farmerclaims.gov or by calling (888) 508-4429.

The meeting will be in room 106 of the Laulima building.
