Frank R. De Rego, Sr., 86

Frank R. De Rego Sr., 86, of Wailuku and Kahului passed away on Janury 6, 2013 at his home in Kahului under Hospice Care. He was born January 23, 1926 in Wailuku in the home that he lived in until his illness and is predeceased by his loving wife Rose, son JohnPaul and sister Carol Jeanette De Rego.

He is survived by his remaining three children, RoseMary (Herman Jr.) Calasa, Francince (Alan) Yagi and Frank R. De Rego Jr.

Brothers, Christopher De Rego, Gerard De Rego and Neal (Lucy) De Rego.

He is also survived by five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Mr. De Rego was a veteran of WWII and Korean War. Also worked with the State of Hawaii Department of Transportation Highways Division and retired as a Construction Maintenance Supervisor.

The Family would like to thank his wonderful Doctors and their staff. Dr. Daniel Garcia, Dr. Howard Barbarosh, Dr. Patrick Hamilton, Dr. Sergio Lugo and Doctor Ian Okazaki who over the years showed him such wonderful care, warmth and love!

The wonderful people of Sam Sato's and Zippy's restaurants who will always be like family. You were a gift from God.

To all our Family and friends who has made this difficult time easier to bear.

To Father Jim Orsini who gave Dad peace and guidance in his last days. You are a true friend.

To the St. Anthony Church Family and Borthwick/Norman's Mortuary. You have always been there when our family needed you.

To Hospice Maui, especially care aid Lori who's gentle touch and lomi lomi made Dad so comfortable and feng shui a room to make care giving easier.

To Nursefinders/Bayada and Kim our aid. You were a great part of our team.

Services will be held at St. Anthony Church on Thursday, January 24, 2013. Visitation will be held from 9 am to 10:30 am with Mass to follow. Burial will be at The Veterans Cemetery in Makawao
