Hawaii volleyball loses in three sets at Long Beach State

The University of Hawaii men's volleyball team went down quietly Saturday at Long Beach State, a day after taking the 49ers to the limit.

Taylor Crabb, a Punahou School alumnus, had 15 kills and Connor Olbright had 39 assists as Long Beach State won 25-14, 25-18, 25-18 in a Mountain Pacific Sports Federation match.

Brook Sedore had eight kills and Joby Ramos had 17 assists for UH, which hit .119 for the match.

The Warriors (1-6, 0-4 MPSF) are winless in four road matches this season.

Crabb hit .522 and had three aces for the 49ers (5-2, 3-1). Long Beach State, No. 9 in the American Volleyball Coaches Association poll, hit .455 for the match.

On Friday, the 49ers beat the Warriors in five sets.

Hawaii will return home to play conference matches against Pepperdine on Friday and Sunday, then Stanford on Feb. 1-2.
