Bad Island Crew, aka Da Crew, worked with the Westin Maui to collect donations for its Dec. 16 Toys for Tots run.
The nonprofit group distributed approximately 500 toys at homeless shelters in Lahaina, Wailuku and Women Helping Women, as well as at several churches in Kahului.
"We are so very grateful that we are able to see each and every child we reach out to," said Wayne Barretto, club president. "We have our very own Santa that hands them a toy, and we are fortunate to see their faces light up with happiness and joy." The club was started in 2000 with eight members. Today there are more than 30 members.
