More than 250 volunteers provided services to nonprofits Jan. 19 and 21, saving close to $5,500 in labor funds, according to an announcement from the Maui County Department of Housing and Human Concerns.
Agencies that received volunteer help for the Martin Luther King Day effort include Community Work Day, Habitat For Humanity, Hale Makua, the Sustainable Living Institute of Maui and the Haleakala Lions Club.
The project was organized by the County of Maui Volunteer Center, Maui Economic Opportunity and AmeriCorps.
