Hana's Olamana Eleogram advanced to the round of 32 by winning his heat Friday at the Volcom Pipe Pro on Oahu's North Shore.
Eleogram had a two-wave total of 14.43 in the Association of Surfing Professionals World Qualifying Series five-star event. Brazil's Krystian Kymerson also advanced from the heat by posting a 13.73. Charles Martin (12.83) of Guadalupe and Steven Pierson (3.60)?of Tahiti failed to advance.
Granger Larsen of Napili, Ian Gentil of Paia and Dusty Payne of Lahaina didn't complete their round of 64 heats on Friday.

Haiku's Kai Barger, who placed third in the event last year, finished last in his round of 64 heat and didn't advance. In round of 96 heats, Haiku's Tanner Hendrickson, and Ian Walsh and Hana's Dege O'Connell and Hank Gaskell failed to advance.
