Shawna-Lei Kuehu had 18 points and 10 rebounds as the University of Hawaii women's basketball team defeated host Long Beach State 61-54 on Thursday.
Monica DeAngelis added 13 points and Destiny King had 12 for the Wahine (11-10, 7-3 Big West), who matched last season's victory total. Kamilah Martin had seven points and 12 rebounds.
Hawaii, with Laura Beeman in her first season as coach, held a 49-28 advantage in rebounds.
Ella Clark had 17 points for the 49ers (11-11, 4-6).
The Rainbow Wahine play at UC Irvine on Saturday.
