Maui's youth will be in the spotlight at Flatbread Co.'s benefit night from 5 to 10 p.m. Tuesday, with the Paia restaurant donating a portion of the evening's pizza sales to EdVenture's College for Kids program at the University of Hawaii Maui College.
College for Kids holds multiday sessions throughout the school year as well as the "Saturday Fun Series." The classes are designed to prepare kids for the college experience and provide an opportunity to explore a variety of career paths, including animation, Web design, photojournalism, video game production, acting and "starting a kid business."
Proceeds from the "Pizza for Kids" benefit night will fund scholarships for College for Kids participants. The event will include a silent auction featuring an array of items, as well as a chance to "spin-a-pizza" for prizes including UH-Maui College Wellness Center memberships and UH-Maui College logo gear.
