Carol and George "Pocho" Fernandez of Makawao announced the marriage of their daughter, Shantel Nicole Fernandez, to Lorenzo Juliano Lopez on Nov. 10, 2012, at the King Kamehameha Golf Club in Waikapu.
The bride graduated from Maui High School in 1996 and received her bachelor's degree in psychology from the University of Hawaii at Manoa in 2000. She attended the University of Tulsa, Okla., for graduate school and received both her master's (2004) and doctorate (2008) degrees in clinical psychology.
She completed an internship at the Medical University of South Carolina in 2008 and her postdoctoral training from Tripler Army Medical Center in 2010. She is a child psychologist for Tripler Army Medical Center.

Lopez is the son of Edward and Christina Lopez of Franklin, Wis. He graduated from Northwest High School in 1995. Following high school, Lopez enlisted in the Air Force. He worked as an air scheduler for the Air Force from 1995 to 1999. Lopez attended the University of Maryland. He minored in psychology and majored in business.
Lopez received his bachelor's degree in business administration in 2003. He works as a contracting flight chief at Hickam Air Base on Oahu.
The matron of honor was Jena Ragasa of Wailuku. Bridesmaids included the bride's sister, Michelle Vogele of Honokohau; childhood friend Nikki Kahikina of Pukalani; college friend Jaime Piano of Kihei; Celeste Larsen of Mililani; and graduate school friend Nina Schneider of New Canaan, Conn.
The best man was Keith Thorndyke, a fellow flight chief in Altus, Okla. Groomsmen included the groom's brother, Jesse Lopez of Franklin, Wis.; the bride's brother, George Fernandez of Mililani; friend and colleague Noel Ramirez of San Antonio, Texas; friend and colleague Donald Shevlin of Hilo; and friend and colleague George Bell of Salt Lake City, Utah.
The bride's nephew, Jordan Fernandez of Mililani was the ring bearer. Her nieces - Wainani Wendt, Alexis Vogele, Kawaioloa Wendt and Kayla Larsen of Honokohau and Mililani - were lei carriers. The ceremony readers included Erin Rodrigues of Pukalani and Jenny O'Garra formerly of Kahului.
